She wasn't a clingy mare by any means and was very capable of sticking to her own business for the most part. She watched the herd as she grazed within it or off to the outskirts, watching from afar. Loupgaru was growing and developing and didn't need her companionship as much now that he was a yearling but she still liked to keep a watchful eye on him. Probably a byproduct of losing Medusa as a yearling and having no idea how she's been doing since. The rumors of Warsaw's downfall by Bjorn was all over the islands and her skin crawled at the idea of her daughter going from being a prized princess to some prisoner of war or homeless at the drop of a dime. She wanted to believe Medusa would be smart and either go to an ally with Ironclad or come back home. When she didn't come back to Paradise, Monster had to assume she was still with Ironclad. But no news still left her on edge. Now, she heard that Warsaw had managed to reclaim the Inlet, but would Medusa go back there? She didn't like not knowing what was going on in her daughter's life. She taught Medusa to be independent just as she was but this was the part she hated. But she didn't blame Rougaru or anyone else for that. She'd given her blessing to the betrothal and knew her daughter was more than capable of taking care of herself. She just wished she would visit or something. Meanwhile, she'd managed to dance around Rougaru the past fall season, giving her body a well deserved rest after the great downfall it took when Loupgaru was born. That was the worst feeling in the world, and it took all of her strength. Recovery time was a bitch, too. It didn't mean she would never be a mother again, cause truth be told, she loved the sensation. She never blamed Loupgaru for the birthing and still doted on him as much as he would allow. He was perfect in her eyes just as Medusa was and she never regretted having him. Perhaps next time, she'd give Rougaru another seductive dance, but she needed the break this past season and a part of her hoped he wouldn't resent her for that. Meanwhile, she saw painful reality of Zjeena losing her twins, only to find two more to adopt. It brought a smile to her face to see the other queen leading her new children around. She couldn't be happier. They hadn't officially met yet, but Monster was nothing if not patient and she would wait for Zjeena to introduce them. Maybe she wanted more time to get to know them. There was nothing wrong with that. Monster was still raising Loupgaru and watching over her adopted son, Zeru, anyway. She had her hooves full. It was nice to see the Vanner stallion growing into his own and reaching out to the rest of the herd. She watched from afar as he even made conversation with Rougaru himself. She heard about the raid that took a mare and foal from Paradise and she wished she could have been on that shoreline to stop it. She knew it must have gotten under Rougaru's skin. Speak of the devil, she snapped her head up as she caught his scent growing closer. A single ear swiveled back, hearing his approach and though she snorted, she pretended not to notice, slowly lowering her head to graze once more. About the time he reached out to nip her flanks, she threw her head up with a squeal of defiance and swung her hindquarters around at him. She didn't mean to kick, only to push him a little with her rounded flanks. Her ears flattened as she snapped her teeth at the air and then turned back to face him, pushing her head into his chest before aiming a nip to his shoulder. A pinch, nothing more, just something to remind him that she had just as much bite as bark. A single ear flicked to hear him before she chuckled and raised her head to let her two toned gaze reach his own. "And here I was thinking your tracking skills were failing you. Not hard to avoid what can't find you." The corner of her lips curled with amusement, eyes twinkling as she tilted her head at him.
