He enjoyed watching Berit grow round with his unborn child. He knew she would be an amazing mother just as she had been for Vulcan and Carbon. His mood was only dimmed by the thought of his other child born this year without him there to see it, but he pushed the thought away. No, he wouldn't let Vihaan steal from that from him. He would enjoy the here and now and the mares who stayed with him. His dunalino was where she needed to be and that would be have to be enough. He needed to focus on the herd he had left. Berit had been oddly quiet during the switch of hands in the desert and he grew worried about her, knowing she was closing in on her due date. He kept watch over her as she grazed and looked for shelter throughout the day. He didn't want to crowd her but he let her feel his presence at random times, just to let her know he was there if she needed him.

Carbon and Vulcan were growing more independent by the day and their curiosity drew them out further. He enjoyed to watch it and yet it was bitter sweet. He knew soon enough, they would be drawn to the crossing to meet other herd members and learn about the other islands. He knew Geneva would be proud of the son she had to leave behind. When Cain was making his nightly patrol, he came across the cave he showed Berit and knew she was inside. Her scent laid heavy around the entrance so he chose to stand guard for the night and make sure she was okay. When she did finally call back to him, the sound was low and weak, an instant red flag. Snorting, Cain turned his gaze into the darkness and slowly made his way further in. The sight he came across was welcoming and his heart swelled at the sight of the newborn colt. His gaze softened and a loving nicker left his lips as he looked to Berit.

She gave his name as Enoch and Cain smiled, his eyes twinkling with the emotion as his chest tightened with all the emotion he felt at having another child. He made his way to her and gently reached out to nuzzle at her neck and cheek, breathing in her sweet scent. "It's perfect. A strong name for a strong stallion. Are you okay?" His gaze swept over her with concern. She seemed to have faired alright but he had little to no knowledge of childbirth. He just knew Vihaan and Primrose were scared to death when they gave birth and were weak and tired for a while after. Geneva always seemed to fair well but of course the incident with her and Zubeia broke him to the experience of childbirth so he was always on guard about it now.
