i'll get under your skin

She kept one ear flicked back as Sayyida and her ran over the dunes, enjoying themselves in the golden sand. The stallion seemed to be keeping pace, though she noted a slight hitch in his gait. It was only when Sayyida asked after his shoulder that a surge of guilt worked its way under Corona's skin, hoping they hadn't worsened his wounds with the run. He gave a swift response, saying it wouldn't hamper them now and Corona snorted softly, hoping he wasn't turning her down for the sake of pride. Another voice answered though, coming from the dunes and the gray mare twisted her head around in curiosity to see who the voice belonged to. Another stallion appeared over the dunes, heading to Sayyida first to exchange breath before he reached for herself. Corona held her ground, her skin quivering with a mixture of excitement and caution as she flared her own nostrils and reached out to exchange breath.

The stallion gave his name as Rigel and she felt her lips tug into a smirk at his teasing tone. She parted her lips to respond but the sound of racing hoof beats called her attention elsewhere, brown eyes taking in the red stallion that came thundering toward them. He spoke to Sayyida, teasing her as well and Corona pricked her ears, glad for all the light conversation. "Sometimes you just want an intelligent conversation." She purred back to the male, her eyes twinkling with mischief herself to match his grin. When yet another voice came in, her head twisted once more, wondering just how many more boys were going to make their appearance today. A soft snort fell from her nostrils as the mare took in the new stallion, watching as he quietly approached before speaking to Sayyida.

The moment he called her 'wife,' Corona knew who he was and her eyes widened in joy and surprise. Giving Sayyida's shoulder a playful nudge with her own, she smiled at her friend, encouraging her to go ahead and introduce them. Usually, Corona would have had no problem stepping forward and doing it herself, but she wanted to give this to her new friend, give her the honor of introducing her to (hopefully) her new home. Sayyida had been welcoming enough as the brothers first made themselves known. She teased the red stallion about Corona beating him in a race and she'd lifted her head, gaze meeting his in challenge at the words. When her husband was near though, Corona could see the instant difference in her friend. There was a calm that seemed to come over the other mare, as if all was right in the world now that he was in sight. For a moment, the gray mare studied the two with a flicker of envy before she brushed it aside and smiled.

Sayyida gave his name as Antares before introducing the other stallions as Rigel and Aldebaran. Corona dipped her head in acknowledgement to all, as befitting the manners she was taught growing up. "A pleasure to meet you all." Her smile only widened as Sayyida went on to give her name and say she may decide to stay. Looking around, the gray mare took it all in with unbridled joy. Yes, she would very much like to stay.
