The sound of someone approaching had him twisting his head and surprise glinted in his brown gaze as he took in the small colt trotting toward him with such confidence. Sure that he must have a parent around somewhere, the stallion looked until he saw the mare standing watch not far over the colt's shoulder. She must be really trusting to let her colt wander up to strange stallions. Some might not take too kindly to the attention. Of course, Cain had no intention to betray her trust. His expression softened and his gaze warmed as the colt got closer. Lowering his head, he tried to put himself more on the foal's level and was glad to see the colt knew not to crowd his space. Not that Cain would have minded, but others might and he was glad the mare had taught her son that, for his own safety. The colt gave his name as Rolex and Cain smiled. "Pleasure to meet you, Rolex. I'm Cain." The colt then declared that he didn't smell like a horse from Atlantis and asked if he was from the sea homes. The tobiano stallion could only assume he meant a herd on Atlantis so he shook his head. "If you mean from the island of Atlantis, then no. I am from another island, Salem." His ears pricked forward, giving the colt his full attention. He did keep one ear flicking toward the mare every so often to make sure she was still at ease with their situation. The moment she got restless or showed signs of discomfort, he would put space between himself and the colt to appease her.
