You may or may not be aware that this week is Dyslexia Awareness Week! "Dyslexia" is an umbrella term for a neurodiversity which is more common in the creative world. It's well known that people with dyslexia can struggle with aspects of reading or writing, but fewer people know about some of the dyslexic "superpowers". People with dyslexia are often awesome at seeing the big picture, summarising concisely, making connections, spotting details others don't notice, thinking outside the box, problem solving; they are creative, articulate and passionate about things they like.
This year's campaign to raise awareness for dyslexia, hosted by Succeed With Dyslexia, is Go Red. To participate in Go Red for Dyslexia, we've set the following challenges. Completion of each challenge earns you your choice of +10 points or 50$. The deadline for all challenges is the end of the month.
1. Write a post in which your character wears something red.
2. Design (either by drawing or describing) a red outfit and reply to this post with your picture/description.
3. Wear something red for the day IRL.
4. Have your character attempt one of the dyslexia superpowers described above (e.g. have your character do something creative, or summarise something) in a post.
5. Find out about one dyslexia charity which operates locally to you.
