High drama with a Cooper's Hawk

We put up the bird feeders about four days ago, and within minutes had jays, nuthatches and chickadees mobbing it -- and a chipmunk trying to scale the wire that held the feeder out front. A pair of goldfinches was also around today.
The feeding activity has in turn drawn the attention of others. This morning a jay started screeching an alarm -- much more than just a scold, it was a full-on panic call. In an island of trees beside the garage I could see the jay darting among the trees, with something much larger behind it; a Cooper's Hawk. It landed about 10 feet from me and perched for a few minutes, then bolted across the yard and through the forest.
No camera on hand, but it would have made a great photo. Meanwhile the jay flew to the other side of the yard continuing its alarm calls.
