After the constitutional convention developed our form of government and our US Constition, as the foundling fathers were leaving the building someone asked Benjamin Franklin "What have you done ?" Franklin replied : "WE have formed a REPUBLIC based on laws." He did not say a KINGDOM or
Democtacy, nor a Dictatorship. THe laws are made by people that represent those who elected them to do so and represent them and it was impractable to have all citizen to vote for them individually.
