Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

Goose does not know the other stallion whom had stepped up to nominate himself for the place of the Lagoon's Boss. Goose knows so little of any of them beyond Cullen himself. Goose wonders why this young stallion would step up to a position that would be so costly to him. So challenging. Was he ready? Goose doesn't think so but perhaps it had been in the spur of the moment. What did Fearghas know that Goose did not? What could Goose learn of this other; younger stallion. There was courage; there was heart. Fearghas was bold if anything. Goose respects him for his decision if it were misplaced even. Not that he doesn't believe another couldn't handle the power and challenges that came with leading the Bachelors. Goose could only imagine the stress on a leader. Goose is familiar with this if anything. A short time that he had taken the Bay before his defeat. Yes, Goose was no stranger to the challenges of leading something; anything.

There are pieces in which Fearghas thoughts would align with Goose's own. It was the way that Cullen had treated anyone up to this point. Those that didn't see eye to eye with him were attacked. They were terrorized again and again. Had they fought for their own; they were targeted as though toys. Goose would never see eye to eye about things like that with Cullen. It was wrong as far as he was concerned. Goose would give the Lagoon itself a change though; and he would watch. Goose would see if his blind trust amounted to much for Cullen. It was only fair after all. One could not just give their trust over 100% if there was reason to be misguided. Goose would not be fooled again.

Goose is no stranger to realizing that Cullen had abandoned his missing brethren of the Peak. Goose doesn't understand this at all. Why not fight for what you lost? Cullen had everything taken from him but he didn't fight again. Instead; he chose to take from others and claim blindly. Put his trust into those who would never fully give it. You take from others and you are met only with anger and hatred. Could Cullen have truly expected anything else for what he'd done? Goose had seen something different recently though. Was it all blindly reading into change? Was Cullen merely stepping up because he was about to lose everything again? Or was this something else? Was this a change that Cullen realized he suddenly needed to make for the better of himself and others? Goose didn't know but he was willing to find out. If not for Cullen, then for his own family in the Bay. That extended to any in the bay and not just his little family. No matter who they were; the Bay deserved their happiness free of fear. Goose was doing this for them. Cullen had made an offer and Goose would see it through. He must. Cullen had better stick to his end though if he wanted Goose's vote in the end.

Approaching the smoky black now; Goose called out with a strong but soft vocalization. "You are Fearghas no?" The name had been heard within the gathering as the younger stallion stepped up to nominate himself so boldly. "You are bold, but courageous. You have spirit but I worry that you are biting into more than you can carry on your shoulders Fearghas." He offers a smile and this is sincere. Fearghas was no enemy of his even though he called the Lagoon his home. Fearghas was unknown beyond a name though; Goose did recall seeing him on his time here briefly before. "Were you claimed blindly by Cullen too or had you come of your own accord here?" Goose is not going to hide the fact that he is still wary and sour. Goose was going to give this a go though. He must. It was for the sake of his Bay; his home. Cullen had offered him a deal in which the Bay would be left alone in the future. It would include Valka of this Goose would make sure. Valka was within his family now and that would not change. He was doing this for all of them.

Softly; he sighs. "This time I am here under an offer. Not of a prisoner this time, but of a member though; brief it may be. I gave my word to Cullen I would find out what the Lagoon was all about. I was asked before to give it a chance here, and I did not. Fault of my own, but in anger how could I have? Cullen took me from my home; my family. Brought me here by defeating my leader. In courage; she came for me. Cullen continued to target my family and home. He threatened my love and forced me to make a decision I didn't want to make. I should never have had to make. My son come here upon weaning." To say that Goose had been angry was an understatement. It was so much more than that. "There is a change though to how Cullen decided to approach things. He returned with an offer that I deemed more fair than any of those he's made prior to now. I come for a time and see what the Lagoon was about. I give my vote upon watching and learning. Cullen said he would leave my family be. My son would be free to choose his path. I gave him my word that upon a year my son would still come here. It would be under my terms though; and his freedom would follow should he choose not to like the Lagoon down the road. Cullen said that this could include Valka being left alone. I will be assured though; she will be left alone as she is a part of the Bay. My Bay. My family. Cullen knows what will happen if he does not follow through his part. My vote will be retracted and he will only find trouble following."

Goose had felt it right to tell his story to this younger stallion. It showed why he was here and that family was everything to him. That his were important and that would never change. He was not here as a bachelor, but he was here as a visitor of sorts. Pledge loyalty of a vote and go home. Win or lose Cullen would not go beyond his words if he knew what was good for him. Goose had come and would give this a chance. It was only fair that Cullen do his part of what he'd said. Leave the Bay and his family alone. Valka included. Goose watches his companion now; curious to what he may do or say toward the buckskin that had poured out his soul to him only moments ago.
