Sandhill Cranes


They're on the move.

Yesterday, in a field beside the Strongville Road, there were many, many cranes in flocks of various sizes. Lots of crane noises, but I'm not an interpreter.

Strongville road, best accessed from Hwy 26.

Go and have a look at this natural phenomenon in our own backyard. I've seen some data that says > 600,000 of these cranes migrate from Hudson Bay to Florida annually, and then north again n the Spring. I've read that about 10,000 or so travel thru Simcoe County.
