She laughed at his answer, calling him formal, and Cain chuckled with a soft snort. "You're worth the formalities." He answered slyly with a wink. She closed her eyes, leaning into him and he sighed in contentment, gently breathing in her scent as his muzzle buried in her mane. She told him never to question whether she would come back and he felt his chest tighten with emotion. "Thank you. That means more than you could ever know." He whispered back as his own eyes closed for a moment. Yes, it had been a hard life of others leaving him since he took over the desert. He knew most of it was his own fault for how he treated others, but even now, still, he was losing horses and he hated it. He hated feeling like a failure, feeling so helpless. She told him this was where she wanted to be and where she'd always fight to return. He inhaled sharply and nuzzled her skin gently. "I don't envy anyone who stands in your way." He said with a small smirk, his eyes glittering when they finally opened again.
