She only seemed more uncomfortable the longer he stood there and the amusement was starting to wear off. Couldn't she chill or something? It wasn't like he was snarling with his hackles raised and threatening to throw her over into the flood waters. He was just standing there silently; the only thing he could do, really. He tried to pay extra close attention to her body language, but she wasn't giving him a lot to go on. The way she nodded when she saw his tail swaying made him grit his teeth and it was all he could do not to roll his eyes. The hell was that? She too good to be friendly? Something about her came off haughty, but it wasn't enough to turn him away. No, if anything, he just wanted to get under her skin that much more. When he tried to talk to her in the only way he could, he saw the confusion on her face before it set in. When she reeled back, he knew it had hit her and his lips twitched with amusement. Ah yes, the eureka moment.
Instead of looking guilty though, she only seemed to check him out more in depth, like she was looking for chinks in his armor or something. Snorting, he tensed and straightened up, his brows furrowing thoughtfully. Then she managed to scold him yet again, saying there were other sounds he could make. To prove her point, the female went on to slap her paws on the ground. In response, Eztli made a bored chuff noise in his throat and laid his ears back in displeasure. When she grabbed the stick, he pricked them again in curiosity, before scowling when she started to scrape it across the ground. The look on her face whens he dropped the stick was enough to make him shake his head, his eyes glittering mischeveously as he leaned toward her a little. "Now, where's the fun in that?" He mouthed to her with a roguish smirk before leaning back again. She then asked why he was there and he made a show of looking around as if there was a whole world NOT filled with water all around them right now.
Then he looked back at her and tilted his head, lifting a brow. "Cause there's so many other places to be right now? My pack is flooded." If only he could put as much sarcasm into his voiceless words as he felt right now. When she mentioned that he smelled like the stick, he reached over to sniff the stick before shrugging again. "Probably cause it's from Taviora, my pack." Noticing that she was trying to sniff him without getting too close, his eyes twinkled again as he dared to shift closer to her. "That better? You looked like you were having trouble." He mouthed to her with a teasing expression. Maybe this day wouldn't be a total waste, after all.
