I don't really like myself without you

I don't really like myself without you
Even with his nose pointed to the ground, he could taste her skin on his lips. Her scent was overpowering and there was a moment he felt like he was dreaming. They could have more. They could be more. He could see it, their love, but reality was a hard pill to swallow. He didn’t exactly understand how she knew her body was meant for someone else. How could she know there was someone else out there more worthy for her heart? Ironclad begins to realize Chalice was a follower of some beliefs he was not. Being taught about two muddied religions himself, Ironclad was not currently a big believer in anything. He thought there was no reason certain things happened, but nature.

Her sister, on the other hand, was trying hard to get him to believe in the Nords their father was so interested in. The reason he told them to die fighting and perhaps the very reason he was killed was because of these beliefs. Warsaw had never been a big follower of anyone, but the closer he got to death the more he talked to his children about where he came from and their family’s history as he knew it. He also spoke of the inhabitants he met on this island and what he learned of their gods. Brunhild might understand Chalice more than he ever could. Ironclad’s dreamland soon turned into a nightmare that didn’t stop with Chalice’s words. She wished him happiness, but he would not find it in her. That much was clear.

Her muzzle presses into his neck as a sigh rolls from his lips. She belongs to someone else. Friendship…he snorts. She pushes him and he allows Chalice to manipulate his head. A dark blue eye, laced in red, stares back at her. She asks him to allow her to go free. He worked hard to convince her he wasn’t some dominate sex crazed male. He tried to find his way into her heart, but whatever beliefs she had were too strong to overcome. This was a fight he was not up to. The current state of his mind, body, and his herd were too much. Even with a few mares he had already one was missing and now Chalice wanted to be free of the cold.

”Then you may go…” The words slip from his mouth. He wasn’t even sure if he meant the words, but what’s done is done. His eyes close once again as he pulls his head away from her. Blue eyes open to find her sparkling aquas so full of hope for the future. He once looked like that before things went to fire with Xiomara. Being a lead stallion was not as much fun as he thought it would be. Ironclad straightens himself up to stand at his full height. “But make me a few promises before you leave. Come back to visit. If we are going to be friends then you should be friendly enough to tell me how you are doing and allow me to gaze upon your beauty again. Be sure to tell me when you find your man of fire. Secondly, don’t go back to the commons. Don’t allow just anyone to have you.” The next stallion she meets in the commons might not be nice enough to let her walk away. Another sigh escapes him. ”Stay safe Chalice. Not all stallions will be able to resist taking you for themselves.”
