She was a little surprised the big roan stallion didn't turn to engage them when Ironclad and she teamed up on him. Instead, he took the beating and kept going, like they were merely flies biting at his hide. If anything, Medusa felt a little insulted, so she didn't let him go far. Even after it seemed like he'd been chased away, she hunted him down by scent, eager to finalize the deal by getting him off the the island for good. As she felt she was getting closer, she came across other fresh scents and it gave her pause. One was a young foal, a filly, but she smelled of Ironclad. Was she his daughter? Medusa had to wonder if he had children already from mares he'd bred last season when she was in the bay. She was a little curious about them but was also afraid her jealousy would seep back in. Shaking her head of such thoughts, she continued forward, only to come across a scent she knew all too well. Valka? What was she doing in the inlet?

Medusa perked up and picked up the pace, her chest tightening with eagerness to see her friend and mentor again. She had told the mare she would always be welcome here. Maybe the mare had come to check on her and make sure she really was welcome. If so, Medusa had to make sure she was there to properly greet her! After all, it was so secret that Valka didn't like Ironclad at all so she needed to mediate if anything. Other scents hit her, but not ones she knew. Mares that smelled of Ironclad, Ironclad himself, of course. There were other stallions too, but not ones that smelled of the inlet. Strange. She snorted, wondering if she would have to chase off more than one stallion. As if in answer, she heard the crashing of something big through the trees and when she saw the roan coat, she squealed defiantly, wanting him to hear her. That's right, keep running. He seemed to be on the run, so she turned to see what he was running from, making sure no one was hurt.

She saw Ironclad protecting a filly and a spotted mare was there too, her body guarding the filly. They seemed to have that under control so Medusa continued on. She could still smell two other stallions faintly but since she didn't see them, she had to assume they'd already left the herd lands. Good riddance. It was only when she saw the red coat through the trees that she nickered and trotted toward the little mare. That was when she smelled the corpse. Her nostrils wrinkled as her ears laid back. She stopped beside the mare. "You know you didn't have to bring me a gift just to come visit, right? Besides, that thing stinks." She snorted in disgust.
