She never expected to make a new friend today, but she didn't regret it. She felt a close bond to the chestnut fresian and she wanted to protect her and her children. Not just because they were members of the inlet now, but because she was her friend and the painted mare cared about what happened to her. She didn't deserve any more pain in her life. If it was up to Medusa, she never would feel unwanted or inferior ever again. Was this what it was like to be a mother? Maybe she had in herself more than that she thought. Kvothe said she planned to learn from her and the younger mare snorted softly. "As I am learning from you. I think you've got the strength thing covered. You just have to see it for yourself." She offered a little wink. She thought the mare was very strong for what she went through and to still see such good in others. "You are more than worthy even now." She assured her. When the mare offered to help if ever she needed it, Medusa nodded in acknowledgement. When she asked again about the stallion, Kvothe really stopped to think about it and Medusa shifted, trying to give her time and be patient. It wasn't one of her strong suits, but she hated to pressure the fresian on anything so in a way, being around her really was helping Medusa. Finally, she answered that she didn't know. Medusa nodded to let her know it was a perfectly understandable answer. "Okay, that decision will always be yours to make. I want you to know that. As the mother, you are the ultimate authority. Don't ever let anyone take that away from you." She met the mare's gaze as she said it. No matter what Ironclad or even the rogue stallion if he came back to see what came of their tryst, Medusa wanted her to believe those words so she could stand firm when it mattered later in that foal's life. Kvothe then went on to say if he proved to be trustworthy, then she might change her mind and the painted mare nodded again in understanding. She said she wanted to tell Ironclad and Medusa tensed a little in concern for her but nodded, taking a breath before she spoke. "That's admirable of you and I'm sure he will see that. I know you're strong enough to do this on your own....but if you ever need the support, I'll be around if you need someone to stand beside you." She met the mare's gaze on those words with one last soft smile before she took a step back. "It was truly a privilege to meet you, Kvothe, and I hope we continue to get to know each other. If you ever need anything, you know where I am." She smiled a little wider, making sure the draft mare didn't need anything else before she turned to walk away.
