In the days of old

Meltable
Osceola

Osceola appreciates the black mare’s concern, but it is not needed. She again offers her a small smile, but then shakes her head. “We have taken you from your herd long enough. There is no need for you to stay, we will not cause any troubles.” She promises, her gaze watching the mare go before turning to Requiem again. She had not answered him up until this point, but now that their family was alone, she held no reserves in addressing him.

“I am not leaving you, Requiem. I am leaving the Cove.” She stated bluntly, her ears pushing forward again as she looked to him. To see him this way was strange, so vulnerable. Osceola felt as if she could crush him with little resistance beneath her hoof in this moment. But she was not cruel, and she was not a mare that needed a strong stallion like most. She needed a caring one, and it had always been clear that Requiem cared. Or she would not have given him a child.

As if to prove her point, she reached over and nudged their daughter from behind her and towards her father. Osceola wasn’t keeping little Matoaka from him and hoped a nice cuddle from their daughter would help ease his distress. “I waited seasons for you to do something, how was I to know you chose then of all times to do something?” Osceola said, her gaze returning to him. She didn’t bother telling him she was leaving when she had chosen too. She had told him before her desires and she wasn’t the type to nag, but she also wasn’t the kind to be ignored either. "I'm not going back."
