Why attack the staff grades on this forum? They do a considerable amount of NHS service and junior trainees often ask them for help when I am as a consultant, away. Just like any other group of doctors including trainees they are a diverse group with varying skill sets. If they are not needed in the NHS why are so many staff grade posts advertised in ophthalmology?
