There were scents and sounds mingling to and fro in a sort of dance. The kind that enthralled those who would rather stand on the sidelines. They had sent her into a sort of overwhelmed trance. There were so many others who had been, or perhaps still were, in this area. Making their way on whatever journey they'd set out on. Maybe they were simply living out their lives in this vast space. Truly the possibilities were endless. It gave her a sense of peace to ponder each option. Focusing on this one thing rather than the many others that had been.
So there she stood, beneath the gaping sky with no specific thoughts to speak of. Her eyelids had slipped from their aware state to leave only a slit of sight. One hip had cocked higher than the other, her weight shifting to one hoof. A heavy sigh would escape her lungs as the warmth of the sun settled deeper into her coat. The only true sign of life was the heaving of her sides and the flick of her ears. She could be seen as a fool for so clearly letting her guard down. If any intruders were to pounce, their scent may be masked and their footfalls nearly nonexistent to her ears. However, a sort of false confidence had settled quite comfortably into her chest. For she was no fool. She'd travelled long and far on her own and she had never shied at the chance to gain knowledge of the world around her. In her mind, if the Fates had seen it fit for her to die by now, she would have. Since she had not, then she wouldn't.
This line of thinking made it easy for her to enjoy such a glorious day. To let the sounds and the smells become numb as she sensed them. They lulled her into that familiar sense of ease as she drifted into an almost sense of nothingness.
