Sorry, a bit late. About 18 months ago, I heard a Barred Owl's classic call in the woods behind our house. Got the plans for a Barred Owl house from Cornell Ornithology, built one and put it 30 feet up in a tree in our back yard. On Nov. 22, at dusk and in light snow, I saw a Barred Owl fly up and sit about 6 feet from the box. Went outside and played the BO call on my iBird app. The owl flew directly at me, then swooped up and perched on the roof peak as we stared at each other. After about 5 minutes, he/she flew away.
