Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

a haunting shadow

Meltable
Melisma

If there was a mare to understand Cain’s hesitation, and the lack of confidence and uncertainty in the feelings she expressed, it was Melisma. She knew about hard beginnings. Although hers had been nothing like his, it was something the dark mare had never expected to have. Especially now, in the shadows of the Lagoon, surrounded by the evil she had been born into. But Cain was her beacon, just as he had been the night he had found her. Even though he had been upset, he had still been strong in a way that he wouldn’t see.

“Someone just caring about me, is more than I ever expected in life.” she replied, reassuring him to his feelings. That she would not ask anymore from him than he felt comfortable giving. Even if he had not admitted that, Melisma would have known. A stallion that did not care, would not be here with her within enemy territory.

Slowly, carefully, Melisma moved closer to him. Delicate steps to not move too much where the pain still remained. Phoebe flicked her ears in a curious manner, but followed suit. As Melisma pressed her head to the stallion’s chest, she blew out a heavy breath and closed her eyes. She felt such comfort here, tucking herself against him, that she wished it would never be taken away. The mare knew it could not last forever though, so she would soak it in as long as she possibly could. Phoebe laid down at their hooves, sleepy now that she had gotten full. Being born was tiring! And she could barely hold her eyes open any longer.

“I should not have been the first to tell you, that I love you.” Melisma murmured. She had thought he had been told that before, with the way the other mares looked at him. That there was no doubt they felt the same in their own way. “But I will tell you every day that I am at your side. And when I am not, and cannot say it, never doubt it has not changed.” Love might feel foreign to Cain, but Melisma wanted to change that. Just as he had changed her.
