At first, he is far too caught up in his own mischief to notice his pale-faced shadow, but Naamah is a creature that is hard to ignore for long. As foals, she had accompanied the brothers on their various escapades as they raced boldly across the Cove. And while he had never had reason to consider himself particularly close to her, he knew her well enough that her emergence from the foliage earned a lopsided grin and a shake of his own head.

"I might be asking you the same, sister." He steps closer to her, his gaze theatrically darting toward the perimeter of the area they'd gathered in. "Didn't father warn you that Fall was the season where stallions gobbled up pretty little fillies?"

Full of the confidence of youth and familiarity, he saunters closer to her with a playful wink. "I dunno, if they only go after pretty fillies, you might be safe."

Despite the tease, there is no maliciousness in him and his expression soon softens. Quirking his head to the side, he falls into step with her easily, tossing his pale tail at her flanks. "Why did you follow me?"

So far, not many of his siblings had expressed any desire to be out and about. Some had ventured forth on their own of course, but most seemed content to hide beneath their mother's skirts and stay amongst family. Suleiman had never been one of them. He had pleaded with Solomon incessantly as a young child to be taken with him on trips, and even after he'd been allowed short excursions, had only continued to hunger for the new and different. The Cove was beautiful, sure, but it was familiar and had long ago ceased to be exciting to the young stallion.
