Welp. It seems as if I let my hormones get the best of me this past fall. And well, now there was a parasite growing within my stomach. Ever present, ever annoying. I’d let my hormones do the talking, and the flashy male had gotten the benefits of that. Or well, we both had but now I was stuck with the leech growing inside me.

The months had gone by, and now I had a foal standing at my side. The little grullo tobiano girl was sweet, sure. I’d named her Blair. She was healthy, a bit, shy, and withdrawn. Maybe that was my fault? I never really spoke much to anyone, even her. She was roughly a month old. I know I know, bad mom, not paying attention to how old her child was. Oh freaking well. I had never thought to ask her father his name during our little...interlude. Was it careless on my part? Sure. Why not. But then again, I wasn’t taught social norms when it came to the acts of creating a foal. Hell, for all I knew, what had happened was normal.

We stood in the grasses of the meadow, Blair tucked her head underneath my belly, latching on to nurse while I looked around. It was quiet. Almost, too quiet. But then again, I kind of liked the quiet. Like that was anything new. I wasn’t normal, even my mother knew that, hence why I was in the islands, alone, now here I was with a filly at my side. God knows what I could do to her. Hopefully she’ll be able to stand up to my crazy wacky ways. I wasn’t the nurturing kind, never have been. I only hope that Blair can move past that when she grows up, and that she wont take after me. Part of me wondered if I should find her father, maybe she’d be better if she could grow up with someone who wasn’t as strange as I was.

My thoughts are interrupted when Blair pulls away from me. She casts a glance at me over her shoulder before wandering deeper into the long grasses. “Blair. Get your behind back over here now!” I rumble as the girl moves away from me. She simply looks at me over her shoulder and keeps walking. She was not interested in talking to me, for whatever reason.

I huffed, rolling my eyes as I followed her. She seemed to know where she wanted to go, and I wasn’t quite sure what she had in mind. She seemed to be heading towards the shore for whatever reason. I followed her closely, watching my child as she wandered towards the shore.
