It's a multi-color life

Too long had their new leader been gone. Not Cain but Melisma. Chimeras and she were not familiar with one another and she was at fault of that too. She had not tried hard enough but now; that needed to change. It was not okay that they were pretty much strangers in the Desert herd they called home. They should be a family and she needed to make that known. This is why she goes seeking out their lead mare. She'd been missing. Not where they couldn't find her but stolen away. This was not okay but Chimeras knew that Cain was fighting for her return home. Their stallion was again making that effort to be there for them. In Chimeras eyes this was not a failure on his part. The Lagoon was ruthless and full of monsters. Creatures of foul nature.

Chimeras has finally found Melisma's scent and she follows it. It led her to the Falls. Ears are high and swiveled forward as she listens to the sounds around her. The soft thud of hooves moving fast caught her attention. She moves in the direction of them. A small but audible squeal and she pauses just inside the clearing of the grove. A soft nicker calls to Melisma and the child. Her posture is relaxed and without threat. They were herdmates after all. Chimeras knew about motherhood though. They were careful and aggressive if you crossed an unwelcomed boundary. Chimeras was keeping her distance until otherwise welcomed closer.

"Hello Melisma. In case you'd forgotten, I am Chimeras. Forgive me for not making an effort sooner. We await your return at home. It is missed." Her soft eyes move to the filly and she smiles. Those eyes return to the mother quickly enough though in a show of good faith again. Chimeras wanted to make it clear she is of no threat to either of them. "Congratulations. What is her name?" Chimeras is surprised that either had made it to the Falls from the Lagoon with such a new filly to the world. She does not voice her concern but it shows in her eyes. Were they both okay?

"How are you doing? I hate that you are there. We hate that you must endure such vile company. You should be home in the Desert with us. Know that Cain will assure you come home and soon enough. Every second there....I despise the realization. It sickens me that you are living there now." The Lagoon was not a good place. Mares held prisoner and merely toys to the stallions that called it home? No. Melisma didn't deserve that at all. It wasn't fair. "How are you holding up? Have they hurt you?" They better not have.
