It was too quiet on the islands. She spent her days pacing and checking on the other herd members but she grew restless and bored. Maybe she'd run to the Crossing and see if there was something there she could get into. She missed all the frantic activity of new faces showing up and being able to help others. Oddly, it felt good. Kvothe took off again and she would have gone after her but she saw Ironclad trailing right behind the draft mare so she left him to, figuring she would just be a hindrance if she tried to go along. She came across the murder scene shortly after and was disgusted and so confused. How could someone kill their own child? She could smell Ironclad's sister all over the deceased foal. That must have been what spooked Kvothe cause she could smell the mare not too far away from the scene. A shiver ran down the young mare's spine at the sight. Maybe she'd have a talk with Ironclad when he came back, see if he could talk to his sister and make sure that never happened again. If she didn't want the child, she shouldn't have allowed a stallion to breed and if it was a forced breeding, she could have gotten someone else to raise it. She didn't have to do the child in like that. Just horrible. She couldn't blame Kvothe one bit for running off scared. She was just worried that the mare put her trust in the wrong horse and was running back to the very stallion who forced himself on her. Somehow she saw good in him when all he did was use her and it saddened Medusa. Maybe Ironclad could save her from herself. Lakota hadn't come back to the Inlet yet, either, and she was getting more and more concerned. Did the girl run back to the Common and get forced to go somewhere else? Should she got check on her? She'd hate to overstep again and ruin the girl's freedom on the Crossing. She only wanted to know she was okay. Sighing, the tobiano sighed and kept pacing by the water. She felt the urge to take action, to do something. But what?
