Silka
two . filly . chestnut . fifteen.two hh [wfg]

His first call had gone unnoticed, but his second did not. The red filly’s white face turned to see the flashy young stallion offer a display, her warm colored eyes watching him with interest as her ears remained perked towards him. It was nothing like when she had met Akello upon the beach of the Prairie, and somehow, she felt her heart fluttering. Feeling giddy, she couldn’t help but giggle as he offered his muzzle in an exchange of breaths which she obligated too. But quickly he began talking, and Silka was only left with enough time to listen. Wow, he was a great talker! But his offer to race was more interesting and she glanced over to the tree before looking to him again.

“Okay!” she beamed but didn’t wait for him to say it was time to go. After all, it was his fault for not stating the rules, right? He had only said who got there first. So, the red girl spun and launched herself into a fast sprint. Her ears remained forward, listening to the wind that whistled in them, and her lengthening tail streaming out behind her. Her delicate legs ate up the ground, used to the pull of the sand on the beach from home, so this grassy spread seemed like nothing. It was almost as if she had been training her entire life for this very moment!

As she reached the tree, Silka slowed and gave a prancing display as she circled around it. Her tail held aloft now, her legs picking up high and she even added a toss of her head as she come to face him so that her mane would give a wave (much like a girl tosses her hair). She couldn’t help but meet him with a smile, her warm brown eyes dancing with the delight of the race.

“That was fun, Suleiman.” She couldn’t help but say, her light personality bubbling out of her lips upon an excited tone. “But we didn’t need to race for you to know about me. My name is Silka, and I’m from the Prairie.” The red girl smiled, though she waited for him to say more about himself. Excited to get to know this stranger, what could possibly be her first friend outside of home. And if he was this fun all the time, she hoped he wouldn’t mind keeping her company!
