He could already tell he was right by the reluctant look in her eyes. She didn't want to admit it, but she did feel better after yelling. He grinned in triumph. Finally, she said it was "alright." He snorted skeptically and rolled his eyes. "It felt better than 'alright,' but whatever you say, princess." He rolled the nickname off his tongue smoothly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. She grinned right back at him, though, saying they were even now and he threw his head back with a laugh. "We're nowhere close to even." She didn't want to admit she was lost but it was too late. He could see the regret in her eyes and she didn't seem to like it when he teased her about being too young to be out by herself. She huffed that she could take care of herself and he smirked. "Uh huh, suuure.." He drawled the word out. When she asked if he could do better, he snorted and threw his head up, straightening up to seem bigger, older, wiser. "Of course, I can do better. I've been running away from my parents since I was a weanling, even before that. I've been mostly on my own since I was born, out of choice. They keep trying to find me, but I'm getting better at hiding." He grinned, clearly proud of himself. For a moment, the filly seemed to be thinking about something else and her guard dropped, only for a second. Chronos tilted his head, eying her intensely, trying to read her features. "What's got you so twisted? Thinking about mommy dearest?" He sang the words in a falsely sweet tone. Then she ruined it all, saying she should probably head back home. His head jerked back as if he'd been slapped and the colt stomped his front hoof in protest. "And here I was thinking you were ready for adventures. Guess you're just a baby, after all." He heaved a heavy sigh of regret, looking away as if he'd already given up hope on her. Meanwhile, his body was braced, ready to turn back at a moment's notice. If only she'd take the bait....
