The sudden scent of Harlequin had his head spinning around to set his brown eyes on her black and white form. A gentle nicker of greeting went out to her though he paused when he saw the small figure with her. Could it be? His nostrils fluttered as he tasted the air and her sweet innocent scent. He knew Harlequin was close to birthing but he thought he'd hear something sooner to know when it was time. Yet there could be no denying the little red filly that looked to her with the trust a daughter shows her mother. At the slender mare's teasing words, Cain couldn't help but snort a little and shake out his mane.

"You know me, just stressing about things I can't control. I'm thinking about looking for some more herd members." He searched her pretty features, wondering what she'd think. He had grown to respect her opinion and she might even have some advice for him. But his gaze wandered back to the red filly with a surge of pride, his brown eyes lighting up as he smiled. Harlequin introduced her as Ryolette and he dipped his head dramatically in a bow toward the filly. "It is my great pleasure to meet you, miss Ryolette." He lowered his head and extended his muzzle in case his daughter wanted to exchange breaths, holding himself as still as possible so she could feel free to explore and get to know him. He didn't want her to feel intimidated by him.

Finally, his gaze went back to Harlequin, his expression softening. "I'm glad everything went okay. How are you feeling? Need anything?"
