What she wouldn't give sometimes to go back and just enjoy her time with Valka in the Bay more before she took the offer from Ironclad to be his Queen in the Inlet. Sure, she liked having a job to do and creating relationships with the mares in the Inlet, but what she shared with Valka was special and she missed the red mare more than she could ever admit. She didn't want to lose this connection and she told herself in that moment that she would do whatever it took to keep that bond. As the little red mare moved closer to stand beside her, Medusa felt her lips twitch with satisfaction that Valka wasn't immune to wanting companionship either. Maybe being a mother had changed her more than even Medusa thought. She felt her own skin shiver as Valka even moved some of her mane in a loving gesture. It was surprising, but in a pleasant way. A single ear tipped back to hear her friend's words as she spoke, telling her she would get stronger. Medusa smiled at her friend's compliment. "Thanks. Sometimes I feel stronger...and other times I feel like a total failure." She thought of her encounter with Lakota and sighed. When Valka spoke again, she pricked her ears and met her friend's gaze again. The chestnut mare assured her she would always have her and if she gave the word, she would come. Medusa felt her chest tighten with emotion, knowing she had such support. When the pony mare mentioned kicking Ironclad's butt, she couldn't help but laugh. "Thank you, Valka, that means a lot. And the same goes for you. You have my full support, no matter what." For a moment, she thought she saw something like fear in the other mare's eyes and her brows furrowed in worry. Reaching out, she nudged her shoulder. "You're badass, Valka. But I'm sure you know that."
