▻ four purebred arabian brothers ◅

It had been a tough season. While he was elated at the growth of his family, Antares was very unhappy with the truths that had come to light since. Atair had wed his wife but had made it clear that he was so busy with his duties that his life with her had needed to be put on hold. Rigel had been busy undermining himself and his wife for the sake of his seemingly endless ability to find and save and then love women down on their luck. Aldebaran had been too lost by the absence of his one-time flirtation and the now freeing wildness of the Dunes they had claim over that he hadn’t been seen on the proper side of the desert in almost a month.

The lily-petal colored brother stands there with no small amount of irritation with them, with himself too. He had been so distraught and distracted by the walkabout requested by Indira, the absence of his daughter Jyeshtha, and his despairing wife -- well, he had left everything to try and handle every problem by himself after losing faith in the other three.

He had returned to hear the claiming whistle of a voice he had known plenty well and when he answers that call, it is with a sound of challenge. He might not have deserved to answer in such a way, but he would do so not that he had filtered through the struggles life had drowned him in to keep him humble enough to rule fairly. When he makes his way to Eness, the one whose voice he’d answered, he is nearly blindsided by the sudden arrival of his nearly-youngest brother charging at him like a freight train loose on it’s tracks.

"ⲛⲧⲟ, ⲟⲩⲱϩⲣ!!" He bellows, teeth bared and his eyes blazing with threat behind the command. Atair stops, though only just in time to be out of reach from those bared teeth. Atair’s own eyes are not quiet, though he is clearly careful not to get too close to Eness either. He was in the shit now and he knew it. Eness had declared war on his Sheik and brother - and he would be made to choose sides. Disgrace his brother or Disgrace his wife.

Antares notes that Rigel stands not far off, eyes wide with the horror that he had almost witnessed. He is wise to remain out of the center of it all - much smarter than Aldebaran who arrives with jaunt to Eness’s own side. "You challenge my Wife?" He asks, dark but insecure sounding as he had ever been. "Well none of you have been doing what you ought to. No king to send me on errands, what’s your excuses?"

It is the first time any of the three elder brothers had heard Aldebaran speak so blatantly out of turn. They turn their heads as Aldebaran makes his side-taking only more plain. "One brother can’t keep his hands to himself long enough to be a upstanding rolemodel. One brother is so busy with doing the job of a Sheik that he forgets the Wife who just blessed him with sons is due a whole lot more than a bit of scarring on the withers. And the one who is supposed to be the grand poobah himself is either chasing after secondary wives, managing wayward brothers who should have helped him, or paining after the happiness that he can’t seem to bring to his only remaining Wife."

Antares lifts his head, eyes slanted with his sinister expression, but he holds his tongue. None that Aldebaran had spoken on Eness’s behalf had any falsehood - though it was a great deal more complicated than his brother portrayed. Atair, on the other hand, is still trapped between duties, looking to Eness with two parts desperation and one part anger. Rigel, of course, drops his eyes and his head. "Obviously you all know I am right."

"Yes, and I am sure that you have so much sage advice to actually help rectify any of it, hmm?" He asks, bitter by hearing his troubles spoken aloud. "Of course he doesn’t. Our dear brother never has solutions, only more complaints." The black brother growls, glad to have someone he can be angry with that wasn’t his Sheik or his Wife. "Well, for one, you can address the only relevant person here right now… ask her what she wants to do with HER land, oh great once-again-homeless Sheik."
