She had never seen a horse so angry as Sidika seemed to be. It was obvious she wasn't going to be able to talk her out of this, but really, the grey mare was just worried on the effect this might have on the healer's son. The sooty palomino was ferocious in her advance on the stallion. She was giving it all she had. Really, Corona was impressed, but concern was all that showed in her brown eyes as she galloped toward them. She felt she had to do something, so she threw herself between them, hoping to shield the healer and maybe give them a repieve, time to think about this and come to a peaceful solution. It was in vain though. Sidika merely dove around her and continued her assault on the stallion and Corona could only watch what happened next in horror. "No!" She screamed just as the stallion's hooves connected with Sidika's head. The sound reverberated through her whole body like an earthquake and her heart was in her throat as the mare's body fell limp to the ground. She knew before the mare even touched the sand that she was gone and there was nothing she could do. She inhaled sharply, her eyes darting to find the mare's son next. She had to keep him safe. His tiny voice about broke her voice as she turned to him. He knew his mother better than anyone. She took a small step toward him, wanting to offer comfort but unsure of what that would entail. The colt made the decision for her, though. He turned and fled. For a moment, the mare just watched his form grow smaller on the horizon till it disappeared completely. She only hoped he stayed in the Dunes so he would be protected. Her breath left her lips in a rush as she tried to decide what to do next. Of course, the next voice to bark at her turned her back to the situation at hand. She turned a murderous glare on the stallion, her ears pinning to her skull as she hissed at him. "Only if you welcome death as warmly as you give it."
