Stay wild, Moon Child

She walked in moon dust,
but stars were sprinkled in her hair

Her heart speeds up at a rapid pace within her chest, waiting for what would surely be his anger for hiding her away, for worrying those she held dear even though she didn’t want to. Despite her inner turmoil she even waits with bated breath for his reaction to the slip of words, that her feelings that they had shared in the meadow had even followed her here. He surprises her though with a gentle caress along her cheek, whiskered muzzle tickling the sensitive flesh instead of hurting her more with the words she plays inside her head that she’d thought he would say. I don’t deserve you, her eyes glass over, threatening to spill as he agrees to her question of wanting to meet their daughter; theirs. The very words still rock her to her very core, that once enemies had forgotten their differences in opinion to come together and create something so beautiful. She is a trembling mess against his side, even as his touch continues along the bend of her neck when she turns to the sudden soft tones of her daughter calling to her.

Esmeray, ever curious, had risen before Feray could even fetch her. She wonder’s how long she’d spent watching her parent’s before finally wanting the comfort of her dam. Feray dips her head to her little one who was busy coiling around the front of her to set her curious green gaze on Solomon’s own. In the many times she has run across Solomon she’d never seen this side of him, so gentle and caring towards the girl that had taken a part of each of them and made it her own. It would not be long before Solomon himself fell at the hooves of their daughter. Just wait until he meets Aysu as well, she snorts in amusement watching her daughter explore him, the pair of them are a dangerous combination. He reaches for her again, and this time returns his gentle touching by reaching across the distance he has put between them, due to Esmeray’s determined look, to brush her dark lips over the ridge of his face and down his nose.

“Geedy for my love then Esme,” she is affectionate in the way she handles the filly, dipping down to lightly push her back and break the strong front she presents against her father, and shushing her that everything was fine. “I’ve another girl I've come to call my own; Aysu. She is mine through and through, but her entrance into this world was not accepted by the one fated to carry her,” Feray informs Sol of this, but her inner thoughts are wondering why? What was the point if he would not see them again when her very plan called for her to return to the badlands and to a man she couldn’t hope to face now. Roheryn would dethrone her surely, the pony stallion hardly one for anger but given her time away she would no doubt be met with much animosity and she can not bear it; at least not alone.

“Fetch your sister Esme, but be gentle with her,” Feray tries to be stern with the green eyed girl, but even so her tough mom voice wavers and she herself is a puddle at the hooves of her, but the adults did have to talk and in the end it would very much involve all of the little family. Feray fixes her eyes of blue and brown on the form of Solomon again, finding the strength within her to finally and at long last speak the words that weigh heavy on her mind, “I don’t fully know what this is between us Sol, this never ending circle we seem to rotate around each other in, and even now i feel the pull that wants nothing more than to relax at your side and bear the weight of our affection together but i can’t, at least not yet.” She pauses for a moment, swallowing the tight feeling forming within her throat that threatens to cease her words altogether.

“Is it wise for me to take them to him? Does he deserve the chance to meet what could have been his had my wayward soul stayed home like a good mate? I can not bring it upon myself to do it, to stand on the beaches of Salem that had been my birth home and have him spit in my face for the thing’s I have done, even though I do deserve it,” she rambles everything out at long last, teary eyed and afraid for the very first time in her life. Some would have expected her to stumble forward and seek the comfort that Sol could provide her, but even he had a gaggle of women waiting for him back home; what made her so damn special for his time to be wasted here and her undecided mind? Why did the fates want to take and take and give nothing back at all?

Her ears slant back to her mop of untidy hair, her jaw clenching and then working itself loose when she lowers the tone of her upset voice or else upset the girl’s further if they hadn’t already caught on to their mother’s mood. “I’m so very tired, Sol, of denying everything because it is not right nor is it wrong. I love him, and I love you, but I can not have both and that is my very burden to withstand alone.” She wants his own fire to combat her own, to give her a taste of what was surely waiting on the beaches of Salem for her, but she knows deep down that Solomon was not like this, it wasn’t in his nature from what she has seen so far.

“If i knew where Xio was i’d go to her, and to Nzingha, but even they have abandoned me”.
