Welcome to The Lost Islands! Before joining, please ensure that you have read the general section on our rules page; all other sections can be consulted as needed. Please also make sure that your character's name is available by checking the Members and Reserved Names pages.

Please also be sure that your character's height and color conform to breed standards. All horses must be between 13 and 18 hands tall, but a maximum of 2 inches above or below the breed standard is permitted for natural variation. Please be as specific as possible regarding your character's color so that we can list it accurately on the members page (e.g. specifying base colors for gray horses; specifying a particular pinto pattern; etc). However, you do not need to have any particular knowledge of color genetics; the mods will help you with this if needed.

Please include the following information in your joining post:

  • Member Name
  • Character Name
  • Gender
  • Breed
  • Color
  • Height
  • Age
  • Lineage (if born on TLI)

If you are a new member, please also include the following:

  • Member Contact (e.g. email or discord name)
  • Sample Post (old work is accepted)
  • How you found out about us (e.g. an ad, referral from another player, etc.)

Finally, please wait until a moderator accepts you before you begin posting in-character. Otherwise, have fun!

sample post:

She must have washed ashore here, but she doesn’t remember.

When her eyes first fluttered open the world around her had seemed blurry, and when she tried to blink it into focus it did nothing to alleviate her confusion. The land was unfamiliar; she can see that, even from where she lies on a sandy shore. Had she been coming here on purpose? Did she even know where here was supposed to be?

She presses her eyes shut, and holds them like that for a long moment, trying to remember.
But the darkness behind her lids only swims like the sea, and when those impossibly dark brown eyes open again the world is still one that she does not know.

With seawater still dripping from a tangled black mane, she gathers her trembling legs beneath her, heaving herself up off the sand. It was a more difficult task than she had anticipated, and it was only once standing that the previously dull ache in her head turned instead to a fierce pounding. It was the kind that made her close her eyes again, to draw her nose near her chest as if she might somehow be able to hide away from it. She cannot see the wound that the rock—when she had hit it, she isn’t sure, but she blames it for her faulty memory right now—had left on the side of her head, but she can feel the way the area throbs.

A shiver travels up her spine as a cool breeze skims across her ocean-wet skin, and she begins to walk, leaving the rolling of the waves behind her.
