Until the ashes of eden fall

BELSHAZAR

He was lonely, but that was his own fault. Bel couldn't bring himself to participate in the Bay's sinanagins or even search for his parents. He never even left Tinuvel. Ever since he came back to his birth home he has stuck to the shadows and watched the world pass him by. He wasn't sure why, but just watching them all made him feel lonely. They have families of their own, friends, foals, mates, and he had nothing. A few scattered siblings here and there that he didn't talk to. Ultimatly, he was alone.

It was time for some kind of change. Time to get out in the world and see what there was to offer. He didn't have much to woo a lady except for his vast knowledge. It out him at the back of the pack, but he could offer someone his undying attention. Especially since no one else wants it. A sigh leaves the stallion's amber lips as he dips into the cold sea. Bel moves his stocky frame towards the crossing, a place he has never visited for himself. He knew this was where some met one another so he figures it would be a good place to start.

Then he turns around.

Social anxiety holds him tight as he power swims back to the Bay. When the shore had been reached, Bel crawls up the peddled beach like he was running from something terrifying. "Are you okay?" Bel looks up to see his half sister Leilyn who has taken her daughter to play on the beach. He snorts and shakes his head. "It's nothing." He realizes he doesn't want to meet anyone. Meeting someone he could potentially care for could be catastrophic. Leilyn knows something is up even if she can't see the look on his face. She could hear his heavy breathing and feel his dismay.

The mare begins to talk to her sibling and convince him he had to try. If contact with someone was something he needed then the risk had to be taken. Once Leilyn and Presti were long gone from the shore, Bel paces the beach. The sun was setting fast so he assumes the anxiety had won. Something in his stirs awake with the darkening sky. A beast he needs to let loose. He dashes back into the sea and makes the trip to the crossing.

The falls is just where he lands. The land is quiet. Most of the other horses had gone home by now, but he just strays further into the Falls. He follows the noise of the water crashing into the rocks. Moisture fills the air, almost overpowering his senses until he finds her. The grey mare stands staring at the glorious waterfall. Only the light of the moon and stars reveal parts of her body as he makes a slow walk towards the edge of the liquid pool. He doesn't know how to start the conversation so he just grunts as his lips reach for a drink of water.
