At least he'd managed to create some damage on the older stallion. He would take that as his small triumph, even if he lost the battle. It was his first and he was bound to lose, anyway. It's not like he had formal training. Only spars with his dad. If anything, the stallion actually looked upset that he told him it was his first battle. Wasn't he supposed to be self righteous and annoying because he won? The gesture confused Chronos, making him tilt his head as he watched the white and gold stallion. The stallion then said no one around was fit for the job and he scoffed, quirking a brow. "And you are?" His eyes glittered daringly. His next words also surprised the golden stallion. Was that a compliment? Certainly sounded like it. He admitted he would be too scared to challenge an older stallion but that's exactly what Chronos did. He raised his head a little higher.
"My dad taught me a little." He admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. He didn't want to talk about his parents, really, but he couldn't take away from the fact Dex did teach him some moves when he was a colt. When he wasn't running away, that is. The stallion even said he had more balls than Cullen. Chronos couldn't help but chuckle at that. He couldn't say the stallion was wrong. He wasn't sure why Cullen didn't show, but at least someone had. Then the stallion gave him a little lecture, saying it was the thing between his ears that won the battle, not his mouth. He snorted. "Fine. Knowledge is power and all that jazz. Gotta learn strategy to implement it." He added begrudgingly.
When the older stallion stopped, Chronos paused beside him, turning his gaze to the roan in curiosity. He admitted he wasn't leaving the Lagoon, saying someone had to get the place in order. Tilting his head, Chronos eyed him. He was sure the guy would be high-tailing it back to the Savanna. His brows lifted in surprise when the stallion even said he could help with the training of the younger guys. His tail gave an eager swish. "Okay, wasn't expecting that. You think you're up for the task, though? Aren't you going to keel over at any minute or something?" He looked the other male over with skepticism.
When the palomino moved further into the territory, Chronos didn't hesitate to follow him. He pricked his ears at the male's next words. So, the guy really didn't like Cullen. "Alright, so if he goes, what do you propose to do about the mess he left behind? Gonna bring the cowards back who ran? Fight for the release of the captives? Offer fair treatment to those that want power? How will you be any different?" His green eyes watched the stallion as he waited for an answer.
The sound of approaching hoof beats has his head spinning around to set eyes on the lighter stallion who approached. His ears flicked back, ready to leap to action if needed, but when the stallion spoke a name, he could only assume he knew his battle opponent. So that was his name, Rade. A single ear flicked toward the palomino, but Chronos mostly just looked bored. The other called Rade father and the golden colt took it all in. Okay, so relatives, nifty. He'd keep that in mind. Never know when you might need that kind of information. As soon as the palomino's words turned sharp though, Chronos straightened up and his ears pinned back, lips curling into a sneer as his green eyes cut daringly to him. "She was the one wrapping around me, bro, so I suggest you find a shorter leash. Maybe if you were there, she wouldn't be looking for better company."
He braced himself, knowing most stallions would act first and think later, but he wasn't afraid to get into another fight. He had a name to make for himself, after all. He wasn't about to back down.
