There was nothing like the silence of the raging waters and singing of birds. Her muscles relaxed and the tension she felt rolled off in waves for a very brief moment. Her ears didn't even twitch to the sound of another's approach. In truth, she had not heard the hoof fall of the young stallion in the slightest. When he lunged for her and yelled 'boo' was when she actually reacted. Wide-eyed and surprised Tempest let out a scream, her teeth seeking to find purchase on anything in the direction she heard the voice from her hind leg striking out as well. Her ears laid against her head after her initial reaction and her gaze fall on the golden male. Striking out with her front hoof she glared at the young stallion half tempted to chase him and sink her teeth into his flank, and yet she stood her ground. "Did you get kicked as a colt?" She sneered her hoof pawing at the earth. "What in the seven hells do you think you're doing?" She had half a mind to twist her hips and kick at him or drive him away but even the startled fury wouldn't lead her to abusively chastise the young stallion. A huff escaped her lungs her temper lingering just beneath the surface, a single spark enough to strike a blaze. The golden male looked almost smug and his laughter elicited a snort. "Well sunshine, you have my attention. How may I help you today." Her ears remained laced against her mane. Admittedly even she could admire his beauty despite her disdain for his sense of humor. Surely he had better things to do or could at least have a quality conversation when given the chance, and yet she felt as though he would simply work at her temper. She wasn't normally hostile but perhaps it was the rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins that left her actions sharp and words curt. |
