N.asa’s claim to the Dunes felt like faith. The dark mare hadn’t intended to re-settle in Salem, however, here she was breaking the surf on its barren wasteland. Her heart still felt the heavy loss of the Harbor, however the loss had come from her first adventure to the Dunes where she had happened upon the Marwari stallion. Arriving now with her young daughter, she could tell it had been some time since the stag had been around. In truth, it seemed it had been some time since anyone had been around.

Returning now brought a sense of peace as she regarded the barren Dunes. Her coat, still slick with the salty surf, was just beginning to take its Winter shape. She turned her dished facade to Kaari. The young foal had been born to Atlantis in Paradise. She wondered if she could adapt to the harsh terrain of the Dunes. The Harbor had been more temperate of an environment compared to the bristling heat of the Desert where N.asa had started her time on the Islands. She sometimes wondered if Kaari’s sire would make an appearance, though she presumed the King of Paradise had little care for the brief time they’d spent together. “What do you think?” She asks the young filly offhandedly. Kaari gazed at her in annoyance, clearly not happy with the change of scenery. She didn’t answer N.asa; instead she snorted and rolled her eyes.

N.asa raises her dainty head, ears pricked, and speaks softly. “When I arrived on the Islands, I started my journey on Salem in a place not far from here. Someday soon, I will take you there to see Cain. He offered me safe passage in my travels.” She doubted Kaari cared, the filly was more of a moody teenager these days, paying her mother little mind. She sighed and wondered if this was just a phase, or perhaps this was her daughter’s true nature rearing it’s ugly head.
