Kaari hated the Dunes. What was now her home was nothing more than a baren wasteland. Why her mother had whisked her away from the Forests of Atlantis was beyond her. She felt desperate to get back but at less than a year old, it would be a long time before that happened. The bay filly ventured across the sandy territory, her mother having briefly left for the Desert. She had mentioned she had friends she wished to see. It must be nice to have friends, she thought. Since her birth Kaari had only met two other foals close to her age. That had been moments after her birth in Paradise. Days after N.asa had plunged them into the sea in search of a new home. Something her mother said would be a better fit for them. "Speak for yourself." The bay filly mutters to herself in annoyance. She huffs, kicking at a small rock in the sand. A lizard scuttles away at her tiny outburst. It was barely morning and she already bored.
