4 dead snapping turtles

George Bryant posted a message on the Muskoka Bird Board about 4 dead snapping turtles at the Bracebridge sewage lagoons yesterday. A couple of years ago I observed a similar situation at the same location, including one turtle that appeared sick. Does anyone know what may be causing this? The new treatment plant is supposed to be state of the art. A brewery is allowed to discharge their waste directly into the ponds, but is supposed to be organic waste.
