One Good Tern Deserves Another!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to check out some Terns on Lake Simcoe. Rarely do I see more than one Tern species at the same time, but yesterday was an opportunity to do just that and take a few pics.

The Caspian is much larger than the Common; however, observing the two species in the same "look" seemed almost comical, as if the latter was simply a mini-version.

Four species of Gull were sharing the dock with the Terns, allowing a comparison of the often seen Bonapartes with the rare (for these parts) Laughing Gull. Distinguishing characteristics include the thinner bill of the former but surely tough to see when the bird is feeding or in flight.
