Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I CANNOT BE ALTERED

OOC: That's fine. I just figured I could give some actual attacks to the spar to help develop their relationship <3

He was actually surprised by the older stallion's reaction, figuring Rade might be offended that he would stand so strongly against one of the merits that made the Lagoon what it was. Yet, the palomino roan actually sounded amused when he said that he would think not. He said his own wouldn't change either, saying he hoped Carbon wouldn't think less of him for that. He dipped his head in response, meeting the stallion's gaze with new respect. When the stallion laughed, it was a warm sound, as chipper as any he'd heard from his own father's lips. Carbon's ears pricked at the welcome sound. Maybe being in the Lagoon wouldn't be so bad. There was a flare of something like hope in the stallion's eyes as Carbon spoke, like he was seeing something the younger stallion couldn't hope to understand, at least for now.

When he asked about escorting him to the Desert, the stallion promised soon but said that first he wanted Carbon to show him what his father taught him. Carbon straightened with anticipation at the words, knowing what was coming. He'd been sparring ever since he could, trying to gain as much experience as possible so he could help defend those he cared about and his home when he chose one for himself. He wanted to be as strong as his father some day, but he was already looking forward to what he could learn from the golden stallion before him. He dipped his head once more in acknowledgement before watching as the stallion started to circle. A single ear focused on the older stallion, keeping one eye on him while he thought through his next move. His head tucked slightly to protect his vitals even as his hindquarters bunched in readiness of a sneak attack.

When he saw the way the other was watching him, it finally occurred to the black colt that he was to make the first move. Letting out a breath, he waited until the stallion circled around again before launching forward in one fluid movement. He aimed for the stallion's inside shoulder, though at the last moment, he dove toward Rade's flanks, twisting his body to swing around parallel so that his flanks were toward Rade's shoulder. His hindquarters were bunched and ready to kick when an attack came while he lowered his neck, aiming bites at the stallion's back leg and tender flanks. He wanted to take his legs out from under him, weakening him slowly but surely from the bottom up so that he could truly dominate. It was one of the many strategies taught to him by his father, though he was ready to adapt at any given moment depending on the way Rade chose to respond.
