CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster. Veterans Day 25th / 26th June 2021
IP: 86.173.79.214

Planning for something like this is a nightmare...things change at the drop of a hat! At the moment this is how I see it and what we have planned on for 25th/26th June.

On 25th June ( Friday )
Blackpool Arboretum being sorted out by John Jones. Contact Details for John are 07711274108 larainejones@msn.com
Bob Barton and Lea McGowan will do the LF and RRF Standards.
Pioneer Axemen on parade are Peter George, Roy Young, and Charlie Bastian. Plus one other picked by Peter George

26th June ( Saturday ) starting at 1400hrs. Reopening of the Fusilier Museum with the band playing in Gallipoli Garden or if wet in the Reception / Normandy Room of the Museum.

1600hrs Veterans Drum Head Service.
The Parade Sergeant Major will be Jim Kenworthy.
Bob Barton and Lea McGowan will do the LF and RRF Standards.
Pioneer Axemen on parade are Peter George, Phil Massam, Fran Finnerty and Charlie Bastian.
Two Members of Todmorden Branch in WW1 Uniforms (new for this year).
All Branch Standards and Veterans will be welcome on this Parade.
4 drummers and two member of the Association will carry out the Silver Drums on to the Parade. Ron Aikens tenor drum plus one base drum.
Also in attendance will be the Mayor of Bury who wishes to speak. Colonel Lancashire hopes to be there if not Colonel Gorski will take his roll.
All this could change but we intend to carry on as we did for the VJ Day Parade and it will go out live on Facebook but we may have to be more Covid 19 minded now with this new Indian variant. We may have to cut down the numbers in Gallipoli Garden.

We still intend to go to the Two Tubs afterwards to continue the day's events with a free members BBQ for those attending the Drum Head Service.
We hope we can all attend a practice on Wednesday 23rd at 1930 hrs.
Sorry this is about all I can tell you at the moment. Thanks to Ron Owen we had a good response to the emails he sent out about this Parade. We have had about 50 people saying they will attend.
