I did a double-take when I saw this beautiful creature on the screen. Turns out I've recorded them previously-June 11, 2014, June 19, 2017 and now June 8. A member of the Royal Silkmoth group (which incudes Imperial Moth), the female is larger with a pink margin. Several hours later a male materialized making the sexual distinctions obvious. So the female pheromones attracted the male even in broad daylight. Thank goodness we now have moth guides to simplify identification of these wonderful animals.
