~ each day death crawls into my body
They move silently together. Their steps mirror one another, their tails flag over the haunches with each step and delicate nostrils flare drinking in the sultry winds. The ocean's surf whispers against the sands to their left while the blazing desert sands beckon to them to their right. His coat is dark mahagany - a deep red with white splashed across his belly - while hers is gilded with the same white splashed across her skin.
Father and daughter brought together in a place that flows through their veins, the sultry winds are as much as part of them as it belongs to the desert sands.
They pause together, both necks arch as one and finally Innayat clears her throat. "Baba," she breathes as she turns her brilliant blues eyes to meet his dark gaze. "It is perfect."
He simply dips his head in a nod as he allows his gaze to wander to the far off dunes and the wide expanse of endless desert beyond. These sands hold his heart and capture his imagination. A land once ruled by his father and home to his mother. It was a land for as long as he breathed he would always return to... and one day soon would rule.

"Abnati," his dark eyes search hers "Will you stay here? Or does your heart call you else where?"
Innayat quietly contemplates her father's words. Where would she go? Back to the Peak? Perhaps... but for now she is content to remain at her father's side. "I will stay," she finally says after a few moments pause. She turns her gaze to the ocean, its white capped waves and vast blue. Simply beautiful.
