Welcome to The Lost Islands! Before joining, please ensure that you have read the general section on our rules page; all other sections can be consulted as needed. Please also make sure that your character's name is available by checking the Members and Reserved Names pages.

Please also be sure that your character's height and color conform to breed standards. All horses must be between 13 and 18 hands tall, but a maximum of 2 inches above or below the breed standard is permitted for natural variation. Please be as specific as possible regarding your character's color so that we can list it accurately on the members page (e.g. specifying base colors for gray horses; specifying a particular pinto pattern; etc). However, you do not need to have any particular knowledge of color genetics; the mods will help you with this if needed.

Darksoul emerged from the wine-dark sea, choppy waves lapping at his hooves. His raven-black mane, sopping wet, clung morosely to his face. It was truly a reflection of his dark and profound soul, he thought, turning his head to gaze soulfully into the distance.

Dramatic montage over, Darksoul turned and began to clamber up the rocky shore. Most of the island seemed to be nothing but bleak, barren rock. Certainly not enough to sustain a horse, even a survivor such as he. He shook his head slowly, saltwater dripping from his mane. He supposed this was the universe's way of letting him know: there would never be a place where he could fit in. Now this would be a good time to recite some tragic poetry to reflect the tragedy that was his life.

But try as he might, he couldn't think of anything. It seemed that the ravenous void that was his inner heart had swallowed all poetry and artistry that Darksoul might have had. Eh, well, a little plagiarism wouldn't hurt anyone if no one was around to find out, right? There'd been this kid back home. All the adults liked him because he listened well and was creative and came up with good poems and songs and behaved all. The. Time. Surely he'd composed something that fit the situation....

Yes, Darksoul remembered something! He cleared his throat, tossing his head up and bursting out into a powerful tenor melody: "The moon shines bright before me..." (It was afternoon, and so cloudy not a single hint of blue peeked through the stormclouds above. Certainly no moon to be seen.) "Lowering my head, I, uh... meditate? mesmerize? the homeland... um..."

Dang. He really should have paid more attention. Clearing his throat again, Darksoul awkwardly lowered his head and plodded onward. Let's pretend that never happened, shall we?
How you found out about us: an ad!
