you call me out upon the waters

N.asa
you call me out upon the waters

There was never a doubt in N.asa's mind that she would be able to return to Paradise eventually. She had simply just chosen not to. N.asa was a nomad at heart, choosing willfully to wander from place to place. She had friends, but she had not chosen to put down roots in a home. Even as she arrived upon the shores of Paradise, she was still skeptical but vowed to keep an open mind at the prospect of staying in Paradise long term. Since her arrival at the Islands, N.asa had only spent a lengthy time in the Desert with Cain. She often wondered how he and Cerosi were doing. Her emerald eyes flit to Rougaru as he admits that Kaari certainly took after her mother's dainty features. The dark mare swings her head gently to look at her briefly. It was true that Kaari's features were heavily influenced by N.asa's purebred Arabian lineage. After all, in the time of before, N.asa was a prized Arabian mare of a human family. She stills briefly as Rougaru returns her gentle touch, feeling her heartbeat rise and her flesh prickle. She wasn't sure what it was, but N.asa's skin yearned for Rougaru, even if she wasn't sure if her heart truly did as well. At his mention of fresh water, N.asa nods. She agreed the salt of the sea always made her feel dry and thirsty. "Come Kaari," she murmurs gently.

Kaari revered her mother and though she disagreed with her mother's nomadic tendencies, she wasn't ready to break away from her. Kaari never understood why they had departed Atlantis so quickly after she had been born but she suspected it had to do with her mother's inability to cope with change. She'd noticed it in her brief life that her mother grew increasily uncomfortable whenever they stayed somewhere for longer periods of time. She never asked about it because she knew her mother wouldn't reveal her secrets. The little bay mare shies slightly at her father's comments about her looking like her mother. She didn't see the striking resemblance and she wasn't used to being the center of someone's attention outside of N.asa's. "Thank you," she says quietly in embarrassment. She notices the affection her father relishes upon N.asa. She clears her throat looking away. At her father's invitation for water, she practically blanches in relief. "Okay," she says as she joins her father's side. "Did you look for me?" She says curiously. After all, he had to have known that she existed given that she was born here.
