i know my own mind,

~ i was born with invisible wings:

Oh, you're not him. his brilliant blue eyes cloud with confusion and his brows furrow. She had expected someone else, his heart begins to hammer against his ribs. Was this him going to come crashing through the dark woods, find him here with her and then retaliate with hooves and teeth? He takes another step back, putting even more distance between him and the angry kona.

"Uh, no. I am not him." he says with a shake of his head "And I would hate to interrupt whatever... Quarrel. Argument. Death match. "reunion, you were about to have with him," he offers before he takes another step back. His brilliant blue eyes remain glued to her as she takes a weary sigh and flicks her tail across her spotted haunches.

He shifts his brilliant blue eyes to the brooding heavens as they rumble and growl. He can feel the earth beneath his hooves vibrate and shake, the air around him is electric, and the wind holds its breath in preparation for the storms wrath. An uneasiness begins to wrap itself around his soul and his instincts scream for him to find shelter. Her words draw him from his fear and to her once more. "Yes," he pauses and swallows nervously "I was just on my way to find shelter."

"Perhaps you wouldn't mind some company, if you can forgive my rudeness earlier. I promise I'm not normally so cranky, mon chéri."

He shifts his gaze from the brooding heavens and then back to her. "I don't mind if you join me," he nods "I would actually feel better if I had someone with me."

Especially, after his visions, being alone has his mind wandering far from these shores. Not every thought was of prosperity - most were actually dark and foreboding - which had begun to fray his nerves. He dares to step closer to the woman and then with a jerk of his head, he steps past her. His hooves quickly find the well worn path that leads further into the forest and to a small clearing. In the middle of the clearing stood a familiar pile of boulders - little caves and crevices split the boulders - some large enough for them to fit snuggly together.

He had been a young child when he had first found the boulders - after-all - his home in the Peak, had not been far from here. He had been full of curiosity in excitement as he trotted around their base, gazing in each of the caves with wonder in his eyes. He imagined he was Thor, mighty god of thunder, and he would chase Loki around and around the boulders.

He pauses at the clearing edge, his brilliant blues fixate on the boulders. "We can find shelter within one of those caves," he offers and before she can speak he sets off across the clearing at a trot. A breath of wind rips across the clearing and slams into his side, then suddenly the heavens open up and the rain falls in heavy sheets. Lightning streaks across the heavens and lights the forest with its intense bright flash. He pushes through the pouring rain and beneath a overhanging rock.

Rain water runs in rivulets down his side, his ears lay flat against the muscles of his neck buried beneath his knotted, soaking wet mane. Brilliant blue eyes search the pouring rain for his companion, his heart hammers against his ribs as worry blossoms across his chest. Had she turned back?
