watch the world BURN

When she first spied the stallion, Medusa saw red, instantly planting herself between her daughter and the incoming stranger as she stomped a front hoof in warning. Her teeth gnashed and her eyes narrowed, daring him to try something. As he scrambled to a stop and cried out in surprise, she flattened her ears and snapped her jaws again, letting him know that she wasn't about to fall for his games. He was too close for comfort. Revna was bold already though and hungry for interaction with someone other than her mother so she peered around her mother's legs in curiosity at the stallion, ears pricked and nostrils flared. Who was he and why was mom so angry?

The stallion at least moved back a little, stumbling and that's when Medusa noted the weakness in one of his legs. He was a cripple. She would be sure to remember that if she needed to defend her or her daughter. He finally looked at her and stuttered out some apology about not knowing someone lived here. She snorted and rolled her eyes. "You can't smell the horses or something?" He said he just got here and her ears flickered. He didn't smell like the stallion scent she came across that challenged Ironclad, but he wasn't a herd member, either. As the stallion turned to look back the way he came, she noted that he looked nervous, like someone might be after him. Tilting her head in curiosity, Medusa smirked a little. "You an outlaw or something? What are you running from?" Or who, she would have added, but wanted to see what he would say first.

He told her then that he'd run into a stallion and she scowled, wondering if it was Ironclad. He didn't have her mate's scent on him though, so it had to be someone else. She wondered who. For a moment, the male seemed lost in thought, but whatever he was thinking about, it wasn't happy. Medusa watched with curiosity, but when he spoke again, her ears folded back. He said he was glad he ran into them and Medusa scowled at him. "Agree to disagree." She muttered. He added on that it wasn't her stallion and she glared. "I could teach you quick that it's not just stallions you need to worry about." She flicked her tail and stomped a hind hoof.

As the stallion dared to tilt his muzzle toward them, she curled her lips and snapped at the air by his muzzle, a clear warning not try it again. He kept looking at Revna and she wasn't having it. He looked too comfortable in her presence, like he didn't consider her a threat, and Medusa wasn't having that either. He mentioned something about catching his breath and she all but snarled, "Catch it fast." Usually she had a soft spot for the downtrodden and mistreated, but she was a new mother with a daughter to protect and he was either too cocky to be broken, or just good at putting on a confident front. Either way, she wasn't letting down her guard until she had good reason. Revna wasn't so guarded though. The world was new and she was thirsty for attention. Slipping around her mother's legs, she reached out her muzzle to the male, taking in his scent as she blinked up at him with blue and green eyes.
