His green gaze swept over the other horses around the Falls, wondering what Talien was up to, today. She had a way of sneaking up on him. The bay stallion smirked. He usually didn't mind, but today he was missing her, maybe a little more than normal. His mind had been wandering a lot lately. He kept hearing whispers, rumors. What was his son up to? Trying to raid herds? Blocking claims on the Crossing? He was doing the dirty work of the Lagoon and Dex wasn't a fan at all. He wanted to see his son, talk to him. Maybe he could convince him to stop what he was doing and come with them or something, change his ways. Okay, even the idea made Dex laugh. A loud, probably awkward-sounding guffaw left his lips before he could stop it. They'd never been able to convince Chronos to do anything, and certainly not to "stop having fun," as he would put it. He always did have an odd sense of fun. Pulling pranks, scaring other horses, especially those younger and weaker than himself. They thought it was just childish stuff, something he would grow out of. But it looked like it was just getting worse. Dex scowled as he tore up another mouthful of grass. What could he even hope to do to change his son's mind. Most likely nothing. A sigh fell from his lips as he brought his mouth around to rake his teeth against an itchy flank in irritation. Okay, so if seeing Chronos wouldn't fix the problem, what would? Talien had been talking about settling down in a herd somewhere, but she hadn't told him where just yet. Not specifically, anyway. Maybe it was time they did that, sooner rather than later. Then they could at least distract themselves for a little while, think about something other than their rebellious son for a change.
