THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

The islands, what fun! Despite the fact that the Good Witch now controlled Talya’s very fate and she would be expected at the Harbor, the little pale mare decided to take some time exploring Crossing Isle. There were a few fun memories here (well, they were memories she had made fun by changing a few details) and Talya was having a blast remembering them as she plucked along.

Why, take the meadow, for example! Talya came to a stop where the treeline broke and the land opened up in front of her, exhaling a low breath of white clouds into the cool air in front of her. Her pink ears pricked forward as she looked for that familiar clumping of trees she’d come out of, where she’d met and played with Nobody. She wished Nobody would be there again, like time had paused and welcomed Talya back, but the black mare wasn’t there.

Hadn’t there been someone else there, too? Someone Nobody hadn’t been happy with?

Talya frowned, thinking hard, trying to remember…

Nope. It’d just been her and Nobody!

Talya smiled and glanced at the trees back beyond the little river she’d once splashed in. It had been very dark in there and Nobody had been a very, very black horse. Could it be that she was hiding in those trees the same way Talya had been? Curiosity grabbed hold of Talya and she started across the open meadow to get to the other side, intent on seeing if her dear friend was hiding in the shadows.

“Nobody!!! Nobody, are you in there?” Though she was certainly a mature, developed mare physically, Talya’s voice still had a very sweet, childlike tone to it as she called out.

Her hooves splashed in the freezing water of the river, though she barely paid its chill any mind as it stung around her fetlocks and up to the middle of her shins. Talya climbed up the bank, hooves sinking the wet ground down as she pulled the heft of her weight up and out of the water. Her ears perked toward the shadowed grove inside the trees and she whinnied, then stopped and waited.

“Nobody?” She called out again and frowned as the world stayed silent, her dear friend not coming to join her for some fun in the river once more.
