. CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site
There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities.
This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only.
We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund.
Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.
Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.

Dear Fusilier Veteran,
Addressing the Legacy of Northern Ireland – Your Views Matter
Mr David Richmond is currently the Independent Veterans Advisor to the Government, and he is asking for your views on the NI Command Paper, ‘Addressing the Legacy of Northern Ireland’, and, where appropriate, what you think the preferred solution is or areas where you feel that it needs to be strengthened or areas it has missed.
The paper addressing the Legacy of Northern Ireland is 30 pages in length, but the major points are covered in the Executive Summary. The link to the Command Paper is at:
• Only NI veterans and their families are invited to comment. I would encourage the families who lost loved ones during OP BANNER to comment.
• Comment should be sent to David Richmond directly at the following email address: email@example.com
and copied, if you wish to the Chair of the Fusilier Association, Col Ian Brazier. He will collate any replies he receives from you into a consolidated Association view. If you wish to send your comments to the Association Chair, then please send to the following email address: Fusiliers@mail.com
• David Richmond is not in any way here to 'sell' the proposals in the Command Paper but simply to understand veterans' thoughts on it and feed those back to the Northern Ireland Office (NIO).
• The MoD/Army will update the veteran community as this important policy develops.
Finally, Mr Richmond would like to have your views by Mon 6 September.
Colonel (Retd) J W Denny MBE
