CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster. FROM NOW ON IF YOU DON'T PUT YOUR MESSAGE AT THE END OF THE STRING IT WILL BE DELETED Messages Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.
Re(4): (no subject)

Many thanks for the info. Your answers are firming up the gaps in the overall"pattern" that I need. I wonder if I might test the memory a little further and ask whether the 2Div formation sign was worn in BAOR circa 1955? I have found a couple of pictures on the site which look as if it was but being of the period standard photography eye-witness evidence is far better

I am also struggling to establish which of the two patterns of shoulder title is most appropriate to the period, the longer and more curved or the shorter less curved? I am leaning towards the former but again "eye-witness" accounts are trumps.

I have pretty much all the items I need now including the MkIII ammo pouches which I believe fit the period better but if anyone knows different I am all ears.

As I said I want to get this right out of respect for the subject but also from my own attitude as a former drill SGT in which I could spot a dodgy item of dress from 50 paces so such things tend to irritate.

As I said in my first post as soon as I have my "Fusilier" completed I will submit some good pictures for critique from the "experts"

Once again thanks for the help so far and I am enjoying reading the website pages especially those concerning Iserlohn as one of my postings in BAOR (13 years total) was Dortmund ('83 - '85) and Iserlohn was in my area of responsibility!
